June has been with Cinahl Information Systems, the creators of the CINAHL suite of databases that provide a cumulative index for nursing and allied health literature, for over 20 years. Working with her team of world-class nurses, allied health professionals and librarians, June is responsible for the content found in the CINAHL product line as well as several EBSCO Health point-of-care products including Nursing Reference Center™ Plus, Rehabilitation Reference Center™, Social Work Reference Center™ and Nutrition Reference Center™.
Prior to her work with CINAHL and EBSCO Health, June received a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, and worked in a wide array of libraries including public libraries, art libraries and music libraries. In addition to her role at CINAHL, June also serves as the Director of House Wide Education, the Director of Library Services and the Nursing Residency Program Manager at the Glendale Adventists Medical Center in Glendale, California, where CINAHL is headquartered.
What do you enjoy most about your role at CINAHL?
I am fortunate that my role at CINAHL provides a variety of challenges in many areas: customer satisfaction, producing relevant quality products and networking with professionals and clinicians in healthcare. I am able to pursue my interest in ensuring clinicians can easily access the most current and accurate information they need to provide the best patient care possible.
What are your interests outside of CINAHL?
My interests outside of CINAHL include reading, drawing and painting, and going to the beach and hiking with my family. My husband and I have seven wonderful grandchildren and a lot of our recreation time is spent involving ourselves in their school and extramural activities.
