Q. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
A. Following graduation from nursing school, I worked in a variety of settings for approximately 14 years including working in medical-surgical nursing, oncology nursing, blood banking, home care nursing, and discharge planning. I took a brief break from nursing to earn my master’s degree in library science and worked in a small college library. When I joined CINAHL Information Systems/EBSCO, I was able to apply my nursing and library skills to indexing nursing literature which I loved. It also allowed me to keep current on the latest published nursing literature.
Q. What did you do prior to joining EBSCO’s Nursing and Allied Health Editorial Leadership Team?
A. Before joining the leadership team, I worked in a variety of roles for EBSCO including 16 years indexing nursing literature and training new indexers. I also spent about five years updating, evaluating and correcting continuing education tests for Nursing Resource Center Plus. I spent about two years editing Nursing Resource Center Plus topics, a year and a half writing and working on the scripts for nursing skill videos, and almost two years writing and editing new Dynamic Health nursing skill topics.
Q. What inspired you to become a healthcare professional?
A. I knew I wanted to study nursing when I was a young teenager. My motivation was a strong desire to be of service to others.

Q. What drew you to EBSCO and our Nursing and Allied Health Editorial Leadership Team?
A. Being part of the leadership team provides me with an opportunity to participate in improving the quality and currency of our product so that it is relevant, accurate and very accessible at the point of care
Q. What is your favorite part of your job?
A. There are several aspects of my job that I enjoy including working with new writers as they learn to write new skills, collaborating with the other section editors to resolve issues, and writing new Dynamic Health Skills.
Q. What is your professional passion as it relates to healthcare?
A. My professional passion is to help nurses have quick and easy access to the most current and accurate information at the point of care.
