Before I came to work at NoveList HQ, I worked for nearly twelve years at a public library system on the coast of South Carolina. In my time there we hosted all types of events, but one of the most popular by far was when we got two New York Times Bestselling authors to come present an author luncheon for us.  Pre-global pandemic, inviting an author to speak at your library was commonplace, but it seems unlikely that authors will be doing a traditional book tour any time soon, which is why I am so pleased to announce our newest collaboration with PBS Books.

PBS Books is dedicated to connecting books with audiences by engaging them in unique experiences to spark their curiosity and encourage a life-long love of reading and learning. As part of their work, they have created more than 700 videos with authors at a variety of conferences and book events and you can now access them all through NoveList Plus!

Videos range from author interviews to readings from their work to answering funny questions, such as their favorite pizza toppings. You can find all these videos by searching ND Multimedia Content or TA PBS Books

You can also find specific videos by searching for an author name or title and clicking on “Lists & Articles.”

Just because authors can’t travel to your library for a visit right now doesn’t mean you and your patrons need to miss out. Share the videos in your book clubs after you’ve read a book by the author or with your younger patrons who can’t get enough of their favorite authors or with anyone who loves books and reading! New videos will be added regularly to NoveList Plus, so look out for more in the future.
