Transportation Research Board Selects MetaPress® 2.0 Platform to Host Electronic Journal Content BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, U.S.A. – April 10, 2007 – MetaPress® is pleased to announce that the Transportation Research Board (TRB) has chosen the MetaPress 2.0 platform to host the organization’s electronic journal content. A division of the National Academies, the Transportation Research Board promotes innovation and progress in transportation through research and information exchange. TRB publishes the Transportation Research Record (TRR Journal), a peer-reviewed journal of technical papers prepared by researchers. The MetaPress 2.0 platform is the industry’s first content management system with dimensional navigation across a variety of content types. A primary source online hosting platform for more than 20,000 scholarly publications around the world, MetaPress provides a comprehensive solution to Web publishing needs and offers an established way to publish titles electronically regardless of present content or current format. “We’re delighted to make TRB’s peer-reviewed journal, the Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, available online in electronic format to the transportation community,” said Robert E. Skinner Jr., executive director, Transportation Research Board. “This new service will provide almost instant access to a rich collection of technical papers that covers all modes of transportation. Placing the TRR Journal online continues to fulfill TRB’s information dissemination mission and, we hope, will accelerate the process of moving new ideas and promising technologies into practice.” “We strongly believe that our partnership will have a positive impact on the ability to disseminate the wide-ranging research results that are being published by the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies,” said Michael Margotta, director of sales and marketing, MetaPress.
