Academic Search® Complete to Make its Debut on EBSCOhost® April 2007 EBSCO Publishing Introduces the World’s Most Comprehensive Academic Interdisciplinary Full-Text Database IPSWICH, Mass. — March 29, 2007 — Academic researchers looking for definitive access to scholarly content will have a new source with the release of Academic Search® Complete (ASC) from EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO). The database will be the latest addition to the Academic Search® product line; the most widely used academic, multi-disciplinary databases available. Initially, ASC will provide a collection of 5,318 full-text journals, and this figure is expected to grow to more than 6,000 within the next twelve to eighteen months. In terms of scholarly content, Academic Search Complete will initially contain nearly 4,000 active, full-text, peer-reviewed journals, more than three-times the level of its nearest competitor. The database will also provide full text for many non-English journals including those published in Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. Academic Search Complete will provide the most comprehensive full-text coverage of journals indexed in major indexes, such as PsycINFO® and ISI Science Citation Index. ASC will represent a tremendous upgrade opportunity for EBSCO’s Academic Search Elite & Premier customers. Upon release, Academic Search Complete will include more than 800 journals not available in Academic Search® Premier , and more than two thirds of those journals will have no embargo. This unique coverage is expected to grow to more than 1,500 in the coming months. By offering increasingly more robust options in the Academic Search family of products, EBSCO presents academic institutions with the ability to expand access to scholarly information, within a given budget. Dave Mangione, EBSCO Publishing’s vice president of product management and content licensing says, “We are excited to provide another option that increases access to full text for those using ASP, as well as for those using competing databases but looking for a more comprehensive scholarly full text collection.” Complete coverage information and additional detail regarding Academic Search Complete can be found at: www.ebscohost.com/academic About EBSCO Publishing EBSCO Publishing is a division of EBSCO Industries Inc., one of the largest privately held companies in the United States.
