Maria has worked in public libraries for almost ten years, most notably as a Teen and Digital Librarian, and joined the NoveList team in 2021. She is a big advocate of EDI in the library world and helps promote that initiative by showcasing diversity and inclusion through the organization of FanFest/Comicons for libraries.
Maria is passionate about graphic novels, video games, and all things pop culture. Her favorite genre is horror, but she will sometimes throw in a book or movie with a folklore or paranormal theme into the mix. Her perfect night is a spooky book and a handful of chocolate chip cookies.
Outside of NoveList, Maria loves to play video games with her husband or have an acoustic jam session on her guitar. Maria also became a new mom of a beautiful rainbow baby, in May 2021. Lastly, she has had the privilege to have pinned a professional wrestler, in front of over 10,000 attendees.
