Sarah Jones, MLS | Director, Carlsbad Public Library

Sarah grew up in Carlsbad, where she developed her love of learning. She earned a B.A. in Advertising from Kansas State University and a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University. Her interests include education, literacy and women's empowerment. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

Jimmie King | Director of Sales, EBSCOlearning

Jimmie has been a member of the EBSCO Sales Team for more than 15 years. His current focus is on selling e-learning products that help libraries support career and workforce development in their communities. He lives in Texas and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, which includes five grandchildren.

In this session, Sarah and Jimmie will highlight how public libraries can support the skilled trades by expanding services to empower those pursuing these important careers. You'll learn about the skilled trades landscape and how to incorporate relevant resources, engage with local trade organizations, connect tradespeople with mentors, and leverage partnerships with schools and businesses to support career transitions and entrepreneurial pursuits.
