Career

Between the ages of seven and seventeen, Warren trained insynchronized swimming. At the age of eight she started competing in the sport, and when she was twelve she moved away from home in order to train in Toronto for the national team. During her time as a synchronized swimmer, she won three national championships, a bronze medal in the Junior World Championships in 1995, and second place in the World Aquatic Championship, in which she represented Canada. She might have qualified for the Olympic Games if she had remained a swimmer, but at the age of seventeen she changed her career to modeling.

Warren was in a high school fashion show when she was seventeen and was spotted there by a talent scout. The pictures taken of her by the scout were sent to modeling agents in New York. She left Canada for New York City to pursue her career as a model. She appeared in photo shoots in magazines such as Vogue, Sports Illustrated, Marie Claire, GQ, and Vanity Fair.

Following the success of her photo shoot for Vogue, Warren appeared in two Chanel No. 5 perfume commercials directed by Luc Besson, and she also appeared in print advertisements. In one commercial she played Little Red Riding Hood, which kindled her interest in acting. She then moved to Los Angeles to pursue that career.

Warren made her film debut in Perfume in 2001, an independent film released on video as Dress to Kill. Also in 2001, she was in the movies Tangled, Driven, and Planet of the Apes. In 2003 she starred in Kangaroo Jack and The Cooler. In 2004 she was in Trespassing, Blowing Smoke, and Pursued, and in 2005 she starred in Her Minor Thing. Her 2006 films were Taphephobia and National Lampoon’s The Trouble with Frank (also known as National Lampoon’s Pucked). She went on to the television movies Lies and Crimes in 2007 and Blue Seduction in 2009. In 2010 she appeared in Transparency, See You in September, and Irreversi. These were followed by The Stranger Within in 2013 and Manson Girls, set for release in 2014.

Besides acting in films, Warren has appeared on episodes of Law and Order, That ’70s Show, Ghost Whisperer, and The Being Frank Show. She has been a guest on the late-night shows Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. She was also a presenter on the 2001 MTV Music Video Awards show and also appeared in Blank & Jones’s “Beyond Time” electronic dance music video in 2000 and Dr. Dre’s “I Need a Doctor” in 2011, among other videos.
