HGH and other remedies for well-being
Human Growth Hormone (HGH) and homeopathic remedies are increasingly explored for enhancing overall well-being, particularly among older adults. HGH is studied for its potential effects on energy levels, body composition, and quality of life. While traditional HGH treatments have not conclusively proven safe or effective, research into homeopathic versions of HGH has shown intriguing results. A double-blind trial indicated that two highly diluted homeopathic preparations of HGH led to significant reductions in body weight and increases in muscle mass, alongside reported improvements in general health aspects like sleep and energy.
In contrast, a comprehensive meta-analysis of multiple studies on homeopathic remedies found no statistically significant benefits for various health conditions. Additionally, some homeopathic treatments were noted to contain harmful substances. For those seeking to naturally boost HGH, lifestyle adjustments such as reducing sugar and processed foods, increasing nutrient-rich foods, and maintaining regular exercise may offer benefits. Traditional homeopathy emphasizes personalized remedy selection based on individual health needs, with remedies like Gelsemium being commonly used for general well-being. It's recommended to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new treatment or supplement.
HGH and other remedies for well-being
DEFINITION: The use of highly diluted remedies to enhance general well-being.
- STUDIED HOMEOPATHIC REMEDY: Human growth hormone
Scientific Evaluations of Homeopathic Remedies
Treatment with human growth hormone (HGH) has been investigated as a potential means for improving energy, body composition (ratio of fat to muscle), and overall quality of life, especially in older adults. Although HGH has not been proven safe and effective for these goals, a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial suggests that a homeopathic version of growth hormone may offer the same potential benefits.
This forty-two-day, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study of sixty-nine people evaluated the effects of two homeopathic preparations made from purified HGH. One remedy had a potency of 6x + 12c (a dilution of one part in 1,012 plus a dilution of one part in 1,024). The second remedy had a potency of 6x + 100c + 200c (a dilution of one part in 1,012 plus a dilution of one part in 10,200 plus a dilution of one part in 10,400). During the twenty-one days of treatment, treated participants showed a significant reduction in body weight and an increase in muscle mass compared with those given placebo. Participants also reported relative improvements in general health, including sleep quality, energy, vision, and skin texture. However, there is an odd feature of the study—the homeopathic treatment, apparently, produced precisely the same effects as the substance from which it was made. This appears inconsistent with the usual expectations regarding homeopathy: that a diluted and potentized treatment should produce effects opposite to those of the original substance, not the same effects.
The Australian government conducted a meta-analysis of 176 studies to determine the impact of homeopathic remedies on various health conditions. Each study was screened to ensure the sample size, method of analysis, and other properties were appropriate to render accurate results. None of the remedies studied were found to positively impact any health condition in a statistically significant way. Other studies found that supplements and some other homeopathic treatments contained substances that were actually harmful to the individual rather than beneficial or healing.
To naturally increase one's production of HGH, reducing the intake of sugar and processed foods, increasing the intake of a variety of foods containing vitamins and minerals, and exercising regularly may provide benefits for some people.
Traditional Homeopathic Treatments
It is part and parcel of the theory behind classical homeopathy that the use of properly chosen homeopathic remedies can improve overall health. These remedies are chosen based on personal constitution and are generally varied over time as various levels of health are uncovered. For example, the remedy called Gelsemium is a commonly used homeopathic remedy for general well-being and is said to treat fatigue, minor joint and muscle pain, and anxiety. However, individuals should consult a medical professional before beginning any supplement or natural treatment.
