Dynamed

Dynamed is a database and search tool that provides quick, actionable answers to healthcare professionals’ clinical questions at the point of care. By continuously updating and providing the most accurate, evidence-based content, Dynamed aims to improve healthcare outcomes. Due to the sheer volume of new research articles published globally every year, individual practicing clinicians cannot possibly stay up to date on all new information indicating the need for changes in their practice. Dynamed takes this burden off the shoulders of clinicians; every day, a multidisciplinary team of physicians and methodologists comb emergent scientific literature to identify clinically-relevant information, determine its reliability, and synthesize it into the current body of knowledge presented on DynaMed. Additionally, clinical practice guidelines from across the globe are monitored daily and incorporated into DynaMed’s content. This content is developed and reviewed through a rigorous writing and review process that includes methodologists, physician experts/specialists, and those expert in evidence-based medicine.

The Dynamed Method

Our multidisciplinary team systematically and objectively surveys emergent scientific literature and clinical practice guidelines, and relevant information for practicing clinicians is captured, appraised, and synthesized rapidly into DynaMed’s clinical content, with 6 rounds of updates a day on the site. DynaMed surfaces actionable recommendations, key takeaways, and synopses, and allows users to dig deep into the underpinning body of knowledge and study details. Users are encouraged to create individual accounts in order to personalize their experience, track content of interest, and easily claim continuing education credits for use of the product.

DynaMed Shared Decisions

DynaMed Shared Decisions offers a robust collection of shared decision-making aids that empower patients to take a more active role in their health care, allowing patients and providers to have meaningful and informed conversations that lead to improved outcomes and higher patient satisfaction. Developed by a team of clinical experts and based on the most current evidence, DynaMed Shared Decisions can be quickly shared via link or PDF prior to a patient’s visit, and focus on the questions patients most frequently ask when they need to make preference-sensitive decisions.

EBM Newsletters

The DynaMed EBM newsletters are a free weekly outlet for the DynaMed editorial team to share the most important clinical findings relevant at the point-of-care. There are three distinct newsletters: EBM Focus, MBE Em Foco and Resident Focus. The EBM Focus provides a concise summary and overview of articles most likely to inform clinical practice, and includes links to topics in the Dynamed database for users wishing to conduct further research. The Resident Focus is a free e-newsletter written by medical residents highlighting recent clinical evidence they find important at the point-of-care. The MBE em Foco is a Portuguese language e-newsletter featuring translated content from the EBM Focus. A comprehensive archive also allows users to read past issues of each publication.
