Libraries are for everyone

EBSCO invests time and resources to provide all users with access to our products. We maintain relationships with several consultancies that periodically test and review the accessibility of our products. In addition, we work with customers and conduct EBSCO user research to support accessibility. Our commitments include:

  • Designing, building and testing against WCAG 2.2 AA and relevant EU standards
  • Completing accessibility audits conducted by a qualified third party
  • Testing our platforms with popular screen readers by people with disabilities
  • Conducting usability studies with visually and physically impaired users
  • Working directly with institutions and their users to address their concerns
  • Providing accessibility guides for products like EBSCOhost and EBSCO eBooks

Monitoring accessibility regulations

ADA Title II

EBSCO teams are aware of the upcoming changes to Title II of the ADA and are working to ensure our customers have the required documentation as well as focusing on product conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA. 

European Accessibility Act (EAA) 

Ahead of the June 28, 2025 date of the EAA, our teams are focusing on adding new EBSCO eBook functionality, going through third-party audits, updating our ACRs and prioritizing remediation where needed.
