Clay contributes to several Data Division teams cataloging adult fiction, graphic novels, audiobooks, and more. Clay has an MLS from UNC-Chapel Hill and has been a NoveList user since beginning work in public libraries in 2010, where he cut his teeth in circulation, reference and instruction. His public services background notwithstanding, Clay feels he has always been a cataloger at heart!
In addition to his weird taste in nonfiction (biography, popular music, baseball, United States history), Clay is zeroing in on his fiction preferences, preferring books with flawed, well-developed characters who work through (or avoid) their struggles with self-reflection and an ongoing internal dialogue. In his spare time, Clay will usually be reading, playing/writing/listening to music, hanging around the house with his wife and kids, or making hapless stabs at home repair projects.
