The Pew Research Center conducted a study between January 25th and February 8th, 2021 about reading habits and preferred formats in Americans. The data represents how some preferences have changed or stayed the same over the last 10 years.

One of the key findings from a new study by the Pew Research Center shows that 30 percent of Americans now read e-books, up from 25 percent in 2019. Some influences for this rise can be attributed to the increase in access to technology supporting e-books and the increase in e-book reading during the pandemic. In short, the need for e-books will continue to shift and change as time goes on, but the need is here to stay.

To help libraries manage this growing demand, a team of EBSCO librarians updates in-demand collections and creates new collections each month based on industry trends and custom requests.
