September 15th marks the beginning of National Hispanic American Heritage Month and will carry on until October 15th. Today, more than 60.6 million Hispanics live in the United States, making it the nation’s largest ethnic or racial minority, which constitutes more than 18.5 percent of the population.
It’s important for libraries to take the time to celebrate and honor the heritage, arts, culture, customs, and contributions of all Latinos and Hispanics, past and present.
To help libraries offer relevant content, the EBSCO collection development team recently created the Hispanic & Latin American Studies e-book collection. This highly curated collection explores a variety of subjects related to Hispanic and Latin American peoples, including history, culture, and politics in the United States and worldwide.
In addition to this new collection, the team has also updated dozens of e-book collections of high-interest topics including several DRM-free options. As libraries continue to manage the increase in demand for e-books, DRM-free collections are always a smart choice, offering the best possible experience for users by offering seamless access to an unlimited number of users.
