User-First

Our AI is tested and vetted by users, and our services and UX are focused on how AI can be responsibly used for more effective research.

Supporting the Research Process Responsibly

We do not create AI features because it's trendy, but because AI is the best tool to solve a particular user problem. We exhaust all realistic options before AI is selected to make sure we are using it responsibly. Our AI also goes through thorough testing and vetting by users to ensure they are effective and responsibly support the research process.

EBSCO is dedicated to using AI thoughtfully and responsibly, focusing on features that genuinely enhance the research journey and uphold academic integrity.

Our AI features:

  • Are vetted by EBSCO librarians, users, and customers.
  • Support one or more aspects of the research process.
  • Are evaluated for their suitability. If a more effective method is found, AI is not used.

This approach helps keep the environmental footprint and costs low, quality high, and development focused on features that significantly impact the research experience.
