Al Manhal is Now an E-book Supplier for GOBI

~ YBP Adds the Leading Arabic Language E-book Platform in the World ~

IPSWICH, Mass.October 14, 2015 — E-books from Al Manhal are now available in GOBI, the primary tool for the discovery and acquisition of digital and print monographic content from YBP Library Services (YBP). This allows libraries to acquire e-books from the leading Arabic language e-book provider from the same source they acquire many of their other print books and e-books.

Al Manhal provides scholarly and scientific Arabic language publications from the Arab and Islamic worlds' most prestigious publishers and research institutes. Al Manhal combines deep publishing and library expertise with best-in-class technology to enable university, government, corporate, school and public library users to efficiently discover and access thousands of e-books.

The addition of the e-books from Al Manhal increases YBP’s offering of non-English language books available through GOBI. YBP has organized 10 curated subject collections and one bestsellers collection so that libraries can conveniently acquire a starter collection of Arabic books, or add to their existing collection.  The collections can be found in the Spotlight Lists section of GOBI.

Relied upon by academic, research and special libraries worldwide, GOBI provides access to more than 13 million titles, including more than one million digital titles from leading aggregators and publishers.

Libraries can acquire these e-books on an individual, pick and choose basis, or as collections.

Senior Vice President, YBP Sales and Operations, Mark Kendall says that this partnership allows libraries to simplify workflows. “The e-books from Al Manhal are among the most sought-after Arabic language e-books. Making them available through GOBI gives librarians the convenience of acquiring these e-book along with other print and e-books from a single source.”

Mohamad Al-Baghdadi, CEO of Al Manhal says this partnership will benefit libraries. “We are extremely excited by our new partnership with YBP, and the global reach it gives us. Libraries all over the world will now be able to conveniently and efficiently find and acquire Arabic books that have previously been difficult to source. Our books on GOBI will be a critical tool for any library building its Arabic, Middle East, or Islamic studies collections."
