IPSWICH, Mass. — March 2, 2015 — Central European University (CEU), an international postgraduate institution in Budapest, implemented EBSCO Discovery Service™ from EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) two years ago. Since then, it has provided greater exposure for library databases for its advanced degree students and has become the go-to service for their challenging and unique research topics.
Central European University selected EBSCO Discovery Service to aid students in their searches while also promoting library services. Librarians at CEU Library say the relevancy ranking, facets and basic/advanced searching interface in EDS have benefited the graduate students greatly by providing an efficient means to conduct advanced research while working on thesis papers and other projects. The librarians explained that many of their Masters and Ph.D. students have tight schedules but EDS makes the process of finding the most relevant materials for their theses or research less time consuming and more successful.
The CEU Librarians also say that EDS has helped the library’s return on investment by promoting their resources. According to the librarians, they subscribes to a significant number of databases and need to make them more transparent. They credit EDS for helping them achieve this goal by providing greater exposure to their library resources.
EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customized index of an institution’s information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box-searching made even more powerful because of the quality of its relevance and value ranking technology.
