DynaMed®, EBSCO Information Services’ (EBSCO) evidence-based clinical decision support tool, has been approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) department. DynaMed users at all three Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom can earn CPD credits when using the clinical decision support resource, supporting their professional development needs.
DynaMed is an evidence-based resource designed to reduce time to answer for clinicians and provide the most current information to health care professionals at the point of care. The tool is built on a rigorous, seven-step evidence-based methodology, robust systematic literature surveillance with daily updates and clinical expertise to support clinicians when they are making treatment decisions for their patients.
The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom, based in the UK with international members, consists of The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and The Royal College of Physicians London, representing more than 50,000 physicians worldwide.
EBSCO Sales Director, UK, Ireland and Nordics, Claire Honeybourne, says this approval reinforces the value of DynaMed for physicians worldwide. “It can be challenging to find time for professional development opportunities. DynaMed makes it easy for clinicians to earn credits and track their professional development activities. With this approval, DynaMed can be recognised as approved for CPD by more than 20,000 clinicians who currently use the Federation’s CPD diary scheme.”
The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom CPD Medical Director, Dr Adrian Jennings, said, “The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians welcomes the addition of DynaMed to the list of digital learning resources approved by the Federation. The Federation, and the Colleges themselves, have a long history of promoting high standards in continuing professional development.”
