EBSCO Information Services Opens Submissions for the 2022 EBSCO Solar Grant

~ Grants Totaling $300,000 Available to Libraries Worldwide ~

IPSWICH, Mass. — January 11, 2022 — Submissions are now open for the 2022 EBSCO Solar grant program from EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO).  For the seventh consecutive year, EBSCO is accepting applications for grants that will fund solar installations at libraries around the world. As part of the 2022 EBSCO Solar initiative, EBSCO will be making a total of $300,000 in grants available.

The grants will help winning libraries to offset their expenses by incorporating solar power. EBSCO introduced the EBSCO Solar grant program in 2016 and has given libraries nearly $1.5 million in grants.

In 2021, EBSCO received more than 90 submissions. Hazel Park District Library in Hazel Park, Michigan; Medford Public Library in Medford, Massachusetts; College of Menominee Nation in Keshena, Wisconsin; and the Virgin Islands Montessori School in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, each received a 2021 EBSCO Solar Grant.

EBSCO Information Services President Tim Collins says solar can help institutions reduce their carbon footprint as well as set an example for their communities. “Solar power is an efficient way to showcase the value of green technologies. By offering this grant to libraries, we want to help libraries reduce energy costs and educate their communities on the benefits of alternative energies.”
