EBSCO Introduces Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Internacional™

~ Resource Brings Together English and Spanish Test Reviews and References ~

IPSWICH, Mass.October 9, 2014 — A comprehensive guide to contemporary testing instruments in both Spanish and English is now available from EBSCO Information Services. Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Internacional contains information essential for a complete evaluation of test products within diverse areas.

Comprising three databases produced by the Buros Center for Testing at the University of Nebraska, Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Internacional combines indispensable, consumer-oriented test reviews and references for both novices and professionals together in one resource. It includes content from Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY) and Tests in Print (TIP) as well as content previously available only in Pruebas Publicadas en Español (PPE).

Designed to serve the increasing needs of diverse populations, PPE provides a ready reference for practitioners, researchers, teachers, librarians, and all professionals who work directly with Spanish-speaking clients or train those who do. Like Tests in Print, PPE acquaints test users with available Spanish-language measures and guides readers to candid test reviews published in the Mental Measurements Yearbook series. It facilitates appropriate test selection by offering descriptions of more than 400 tests along 22 dimensions, including test norms, norming samples, and translation or adaption processes when applicable.

The MMY series allows users to make knowledgeable judgments and informed selection decisions within the increasingly complex world of testing. It provides coverage from the first edition in 1938 through the present edition for a total of more than 10,000 available full-text reviews. Entries contain descriptive information and edited reviews written by leading content-area experts.

The TIP database serves as a comprehensive bibliography to all known commercially available tests that are currently in print in the English language. A score index allows users to identify what is being measured by each test. TIP acquaints test users with available English-language tests and guides readers to test reviews published in the MMY series.

By bringing together the PPE, TIP, and MMY databases, readers can access detailed descriptions of commercial tests available in English and in Spanish as well as thousands of informative reviews of these measures now accessible through Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Internacional.

Buros Center for Testing Director Dr. Kurt F. Geisinger states that the Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Internacional demonstrates a continuing commitment to multicultural and international assessment and reflects dedication to improving the science and practice of testing. “Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Internacional expands on the strong tradition of integrity combined with a progressive vision that is embodied in the work of the Buros Center for Testing.”
