EBSCO Now a Direct Sales Partner for Nursing and Medical Education Journals from MA Healthcare

MA Healthcare Will Participate in EBSCO’s Newly Expanded Sales Distribution Program ~

IPSWICH, Mass.May 14, 2015EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and MA Healthcare are expanding their relationship in an effort to further promote visibility and adoption of the top nursing, midwifery and healthcare journals. While MA Healthcare journals have previously been available from EBSCO via its subscription services, EBSCO is now acting as a sales agent for MA Healthcare.

Long known as both a subscription agency and a database vendor, EBSCO has pooled the resources from both areas and now offers selected publishers truly expanded worldwide sales and marketing efforts as part of a new program. The list of publisher partners in this program is limited.

MA Healthcare is an established provider of nursing and medical education, printed resources, conferences and websites for professionals at all levels of health services. MA Healthcare journals are renowned for their quality peer-reviewed clinical and professional content, as well as their currency, clarity and accessibility, including: British Journal of Nursing, British Journal of Midwifery and British Journal of Community Nursing.

These journals are indexed in a number of EBSCO databases, and the two organizations are maximizing technology to ensure the best possible linking between EBSCO’s hosted indexes (e.g., Academic Search, CINAHL® , MEDLINE™, etc.), and the MA Healthcare e-journal platform for mutual customers. Mutual customers will also experience enhanced linking via EBSCO Discovery Service™, as well as via EBSCO’s point-of-care products (e.g., DynaMed™).

Sam Brooks, an EBSCO Executive Vice President says: “By having EBSCO sell these important healthcare journals, more institutions worldwide are able to learn the benefits of subscribing electronically”

Ben Allen, MA Healthcare’s Chief Executive Officer says: “This is a very exciting partnership for MA Healthcare. Working with EBSCO’s worldwide network of over 600 sales agents we are now able to more effectively disseminate our high quality peer-reviewed healthcare content to a much larger global audience.”
