IPSWICH, Mass. — December 18, 2012 — Online academic video collections from INTELECOM Intelligent Telecommunications (INTELECOM) will be available from EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO). The agreement will give users access to INTELECOM’s library of core curriculum video collections through EBSCOhost®, while other videos will be included in subject-specific EBSCOhost databases.
Produced by INTELECOM, a non-profit corporation and award-winning producer of instructional media for both classroom and online learning, each video collection offers a comprehensive audiovisual survey of a different core curriculum subject. All videos are closely aligned to core course syllabi and learning outcomes and closed captioned for hearing-impaired audiences.
Core video collections from INTELECOM include:
· Anatomy and Physiology
· Algebra
· Environmental Studies
· Health
· History
· Oceanography
· Philosophy
· Political science
· Psychology
· Sociology
By making the video databases available via EBSCOhost, the most-used for-fee electronic resource in libraries around the world, users will have the ability to customize their searches with a variety of search options and limiters and can utilize the intuitive approach to searching online databases.
Earlier this year, EBSCO and INTELECOM agreed to add metadata for all videos from INTELECOM’s academic video database, the INTELECOM Online Resources Network®, to the Base Index of EBSCO Discovery Service™(EDS) and also allow mutual customers to access the full video database of more than 4,000 video clips and growing; adding a wealth of rich media to EBSCO Discovery Service.
