New features in the April 2014 release of NoveList

~New features in the April 2014 release of NoveList~

NoveList will offer some exciting new features and a new look on or after April 30, 2014. Enhancements include an updated, modern design and all-new autocomplete search functionality. In addition, NoveList Plus will now include audiobook recommendations.

Audiobook recommendations

Many customers are very excited about this new content because it will expand their ability to offer listeners’ advisory to patrons. More than 30,000 audiobook titles will be added to NoveList Plus, along with listen-alike recommendations, sound samples, and reviews. This feature is only available in NoveList Plus. The new look

All of the NoveList databases will be getting a new look that is modern and clean. The layout and usability will be very familiar to most users, but also more visually appealing. We removed a lot of the clutter on the page, while keeping most of the content in place. This change affects all four of the NoveList databases (NoveList Plus, NoveList, NoveList K-8 Plus, and NoveList K-8). See a preview of the new look.

New menu bar

We retooled the menu bar at the top of every NoveList page to make it easier for users to jump to different locations within the interface. There is a new section called Professional Toolbox especially for librarians looking for readers’ advisory help. There is also a new section called Spotlight On… that highlights new or special content.  This change affects all four of the NoveList databases (NoveList Plus, NoveList, NoveList K-8 Plus, and NoveList K-8).

Improved autocomplete

Searching NoveList is significantly improved with our new autocomplete technology. Now users can start typing part of a title or author name and suggested matches are instantly suggested -- regardless of where the word appears in the results. Searching is faster and more accurate with this improved feature. This change affects all four of the NoveList databases (NoveList Plus, NoveList, NoveList K-8 Plus, and NoveList K-8).
