University of Florida Selects YBP Library Services for Collection Development

~ Joins Other Florida Universities That Partner with YBP ~

CONTOOCOOK, N.H.June 4, 2015 —The University of Florida (UF) has agreed to partner with YBP Library Services for YBP’s integrated digital and print discovery and fulfillment services. YBP will serve as a key vendor for academic content for the University and will provide acquisition and collection development to UF via its GOBI interface. GOBI provides access to more than 12 million titles, including more than 1 million digital titles from leading aggregators and publishers.

The Acquisitions Department at UF worked closely with YBP to finalize this affiliation, and remains excited to begin working with YBP to meet the digital and print content needs of UF libraries. YBP will serve as UF’s primary domestic monograph vendor.

The University of Florida joins Florida State University as a recent addition to YBP’s list of partner libraries, which includes many academic libraries in the State University System of Florida (SUS) consortium. YBP’s Senior Vice President, Mark Kendall anticipates that UF and other SUS libraries will now be able to take advantage of the collection development services and tools that YBP offers consortia worldwide.

Of the consortial partnership with YBP, Kendall says, “There was additional motivation for the University of Florida to transition to YBP, as the State University System of Florida Consortium is looking to YBP to support a consortia program in the coming year. Many libraries within the consortium use YBP, and in joining this group, universities such as UF can utilize YBP’s enhanced consortia tools that will afford it visibility to the activity of the consortium and its member libraries.”
