MEDLINE
Created by the United States National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE is an authoritative bibliographic database containing citations and abstracts for biomedical and health journals used by health care professionals, nurses, clinicians and researchers.
The Premier Index for Biomedical Literature
MEDLINE contains journal citations and abstracts for biomedical literature from around the world. The majority of journals selected for MEDLINE are based on the recommendation of the Literature Selection Technical Review Committee.
For full-text biomedical journals, MEDLINE Ultimate is the largest full-text companion to the MEDLINE index.
Ahead of Print
MEDLINE includes Ahead of Print content for relevant titles from key publishers.
Subject Headings
The Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) thesaurus is a controlled and hierarchically-organized vocabulary produced by the National Library of Medicine. All MeSH terms are pre-defined and have synonyms included. MeSH is effective for in-depth searching in MEDLINE, assisting in targeting and retrieving specific information.
