Amy Stein BSN, RN, MSN, CPNP
Amy obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. She began her nursing career at the bedside in pediatric oncology. She went on to travel nurse and expand her area of practice to cardiac, solid organ transplant, and medical surgical specialties. After moving to the ambulatory setting in gastroenterology and pulmonary, Amy started a home visit program for kids who had poorly controlled asthma. This program proved to be beneficial for decreasing asthma exacerbations and unplanned healthcare visits such as emergency room visits and hospitalizations. Miss Stein went on to get her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Colorado and became a nurse practitioner. She went on to practice in allergy at Childrens Hospital of Colorado and became an instructor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Along with diagnosing and treating pediatric allergic conditions she was a sub-investigator on multiple research studies evaluating treatment options for food allergies. She completed her certification from the Institute of Quality, Safety, and Efficiency (IHQSE). Using this groundwork provided by IHQSE, she began a hospital wide penicillin allergy de-labeling project that continues to this day. She recently made the transition from clinical care to EBSCO and is loving her new role.
