Louis Leff MD
Louis Leff MD, FACP, a Pittsburgh internist, earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Pittsburgh and his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, later receiving certification in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and ACP Fellowship, and Clinical Informatics. He currently holds the position of Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and serves as the Medical Director of eRecord at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
Dr. Leff has great interest in medical computing, and is the author of EBMcalc, an evidence-based medicine computing tool. He also serves as Editor for Calculators at DynaMed.
In 2003 Dr. Leff was presented the Laureate Award by the American College of Physicians (ACP). The Laureate Award honors Fellows and Masters of ACP who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to excellence in medical care, education or research, and to service to their community. In 2012 Dr. Leff was named Top 25 Clinical Informaticists by Modern Healthcare magazine.
